what to expect

This Isagenix 7 Day Reset is based on intermittent fasting.

While you are not truly “fasting,” your nutrition will come from balanced shakes to ensure consistent nutrition, daily adaptogen elixirs to ensure your body adapts to biological stress from the reduction in calories, (ideally) plant-based meals of up to 600 calories on Days 1-3 and 5-7, and a cleanse tonic to promote elimination of low-grade inflammation in the body.

Since your body will be expending less energy to digest meals, it will be have more energy to heal.

instructions

Please remember to consult with your physician if you have any pre-existing conditions. This 7 Day Reset is based on intermittent fasting. On days 1-3 and 5-7, you will consume between 1000-1200 calories. On day 4, your cleanse day, the caloric intake is approximately 550 calories. You are encouraged to continue to take any of your dietary supplements, throughout the program.

 Sample Schedule

Days 1 & 2
8am Herbal tea (my favorite is Holy Detox from zenstea.com) + Collagen Elixir
10:30-12:00 1st shake (I found that my first time doing this cleanse, I felt hungry so I had 2 Brazil nuts + 6 cold grapes after my shakes to help sustain me)
1:30 Adaptogen Elixir
3-4:30 2nd shake (+ 2 Brazil nuts or 5-6 almonds or fresh fruit)
6:30pm Hearty salad: lots of various leafy greens, beets, chickpeas, beets, avocado, slivered almonds, fresh herbs, dressing of vegan Ranch (I get mine from Trader Joes) or lemon juice and olive oil.

** Drink lots of water throughout the day to help facilitate the “cleansing” of your body.

Exercise – Your usual routine with lowered exertion due to lesser caloric intake.
Be sure to include mild-moderate strength training to ensure you are maximizing fat burning and preventing muscle loss.

Day 3, 5-7
Duplicate Days 1 & 2, but you may, by now, feel adapted to the program and can omit the additional snacks with your shakes.

Continue to hydrate well with water and herbal tea.

Continue with your regular exercise routine.
If you find that your muscles are cramping, reduce your intensity and add a magnesium supplement (like Calm powder) to your daily supplement (if you are on any medications, please clear this with your physician to ensure a magnesium supplement will not adversely react with or affect the efficacy of those meds).

Day 4 – Cleanse Day
8am herbal tea + Collagen Elixir
10:30am Cleanse tonic + snack bite
(or up to 100 calories of nuts and a date or other mixed fruit, instead of included “bite”)
12pm Adaptogen Elixir
1:30pm Cleanse tonic + snack
4pm Cleanse tonic + snack
6:30pm Cleanse tonic + snack

If you choose to exercise, you may need to reduce intensity. I highly recommend including mild-moderate weights/function strength training.

Continue to hydrate well with lots of water, sipping throughout the day, every 15-20 minutes.

Also, crucially important is your rest. Because your are “detoxing” your body needs sufficient rest to continue to reduce inflammation and recover from daily stressors. A minimum of 7 hours of sleep per night is ideal.

Food advice

FOODS TO AVOID
Maximize your cleanse by adhering to this highly anti-inflammatory food plan. Although it may seem restrictive, it is only 7 days, and you may expand your plant-based food palate!
Avoid the following inflammation causing foods:

FOODS TO TRY
As best possible, consume mostly organic plant-based foods that are colorful, fiber-rich, and nutrient dense. You can have chunky salads, bone broth and “harvest bowl” types of dinners that I may compile myself.
